My dear girl friend,
Unfortunately I have to write to you as it is some time since I last wrote dear Christiane. It is weeks since I have had home leave. I did not see you last time I was at home. I have had enough and want to come back and just live in peace at home. I hope everyone is still well and your brother also is still alive and well...Many regards and in hope of peace soon
