Inscription on Back, Transcribed: This is the village where I am. It is about the size of Bristol. Dear Friend, I received your Xmas card and thank you for the same, I had a very fine Xmas although I was so far from home. We had roast turkey and everything that goes with it except cranberries. I received a Xmas card from Johnston and a card and picture from Mill and he certainly looks fine. I had my picture taken but as I only had a few I am sending you one for the family. I would like to send Mill one and also Geore but I guess they will be home soon. My company left here today to join our regiment to go home but I am not going with them as I am [illegible]. Hoping you are all well as I am at present.
