|Object Name||Postcard, Inscribed|
American Red Cross postcard from Russell Oliver Weathers that informs his family that the ship on which he had been on arrived safely to Europe, dated May 11, 1918.
The postcard is addressed to Miss Edith Casey in Ionia Missouri. That back of the card has the sentence "The ship on which I sailed has arrived safely overseas' and then has a space for the soldier's name an organization. In the places provided the name Russell O. Heathers is written as well as the company information. Since the last name reads Heathers instead of Weathers and it is addressed to Miss Edith Casey, it can be assumed someone else wrote the information on the postcard.
From the World War One service of Corporal Russell Olive Weathers, 1460375, Co. D, 140th Infantry Regiment, 35th Division, A.E.F.
