Description German Death Announcement

Interior Translation:

[left side]
In prayerful memory of the honorable Mr. Kaspar Bichler, farmer's son from Percha, most recently in Munich, replacement reservist in the 15th Infantry Regiment, 4th Company, who, on 26 May 1916, after 18 months of loyal fulfilment of his duties, suffered a hero's death for the Fatherland at the age of almost 34 years, near Douaumont.

Off to the battle as Landwehr -
How we wept with worry -
From wife and child, with heavy heart
You went as a hero.
You steely did your duty there
For your king - for your country.
Two little children, they grieve greatly,
Their mother also mourns the good man,
Husband and father is no more,
He had to bleed to death in enemy territory.
Rest gently! May you be granted
Eternal peace in God above.

Our Father.Ave Maria.
Lord, let him rest in peace. Amen.
