Inscription on back of postcard, transcribed: "This is where the King & Queen of England live when in Edinburgh Scotland. I was in both the Place and the old Chapel. Bill".

From the service of William E. Letts, Coxswain U.S. Navy. Letts enlisted April 1, 1916, trained at the U.S. Naval Training Station in Great Lakes, Illinois, served aboard the U.S.S. Wyoming, and was honorably discharged on March 25, 1920.
