Maps, acquired from a variety of sources including the War Department and Army War College in Washington, D.C. Most were acquired by Major Jay M. Lee expressly to be used as guides for the artist D. Putnam Brinley of New York in preparing the map mural paintings in Memory Hall. Lee made notations on most of them and sent them to Brinley with correspondence (in LMA records) describing his notations. Brinley then returned them to Lee.
