Inscription on back of postcard: "Lafayette / Indiana / Sept. 23 (1918) / Dear Mother / I suppose Sat is with you. I haven't heard from you for some time. Lots of sickness here and deaths. I will write soon to you. Hope you are well when I write a letter will tell you all the news. This leaves us well as usual good bye Juliee".
