A copy of a letter from the Zone Finance Office to Harry M. Tompkins regarding the bonus for discharged soldiers, dated March 26, 1919
1. As per rider attached to the recently enacted revenue bill and becoming a law as section 1406 of the war revenue law of 1918, effective Feb. 25th. Attached is certificate of honorable discharge of the above party.
2.Said party enlisted July 30, 1917 at Kansas City, Mo. In the First Separate Battalion Mo. Engineers, Mo. National Guards Transferred in Sept., 1917 to Co. "E" 110th Engineers, 35th Division. In active service with same organization in A.EF from May 2, 1918 to Aug. 23, 1918. Transferred to States for duty Aug. 23, 1918; Upon arriving in U.S. was assigned to the 6th E.T.R., Camp A. A. Humphreys, Va. In Oct., 1918. Transferred December 21, 1918, to Camp Funston, Kansas for discharge.
3.Honorably discharged from Camp Funston January 9th, 1919.
4. Mail bonus check-----------
