An inscribed lithographic postcard written in French from Robert Cottell to Miss Battershill and the American Red Cross at Camp Pontanezen, Brest, France.
The front of the post card has a lithographic image of a young girl in traditional French dress holding a bouquet of flowers in her right hand and a French flag in her left hand. On the French flag are the letters RF. Below the image is the phrase "Retour au drapeau. Il claque au vent avec fierte. Le drapeau de la Liberte." which is French for "Back to the flag. It flapping in the wind with pride. The flag of Liberty." Written on the back of the postcard is Meilleure Amitiés, which is French for best regards.
